These cables are used for power supplies with Protective Multiple Earthing (PME) systems, where a combined Protective Earth (PE) and Neutral (N) - together known as the PEN - connects the combined neutral-and-earth to real earth at multiple locations to reduce the risk of electric shock in the event of a broken PEN. They are manufactured in accordance with BS7870-3.10 (PVC insulation and sheathing), BS7870-3.11 (XLPE insulation / PVC sheathing) and BS7870-3.12 (XLPE insulation / LSZH sheathing)

Split Concentric Cable Specification

These cables are intended for use in power supplies featuring separate Protective Earth (PE) and Neutral (N) conductors that only merge to form the PEN near the source of power. After entering the building, the Protective Earth and Neutral conductors remain distinct and are not joined. These cables adhere to industry standards such as BS7870-3.20 for PVC insulation and sheathing, BS7870-3.21 for XLPE insulation with PVC sheathing, and BS7870-3.22 for XLPE insulation paired with LSZH sheathing.
